We are the Rotary Club for Global Action, a new type of e-club connecting members from around the world. In support of Rotary's newest area of focus, we are spearheading recurring Global Cleanups in an effort to bring awareness to the waste and ocean plastic crisis as well as to the general environmental and planetary issues we face. The urgency to switch from a linear economy to a circular one is slowly gaining more traction. By using the Clean Swell app to quantify and qualify what is collected during the cleanups, important information is sent to Ocean Conservancy who in turn uses this data to drive change at a policy and systems-wide level. This is the sort-of top-down change that needs to occur to find sustainable solutions for a cleaner planet.
